Mid Valley Unit




Mid Valley Unit logo Backcountry Horsemen of California is a non-profit organization dedicated to conserving backcountry wilderness, protecting stock users' historic use of the wilderness and educating the public about gentle, "Leave No Trace" wilderness use. We are a 501(c)3 organization, which means donations to BCHC Mid Valley are tax-deductible. The Mid Valley Unit is based in Modesto. See our Links page for our neighbors and the state web site.

June 12 - 15, 2014 (Thu - Sun): Clark Fork Horse Camp Trail Clearing Project
We'll be trimming branches, cleaning up barbed wire and generally spiffing up the trails around the camp.

June 27 - 29, 2014 (Fri - Sun): Youth Horse Camp
Young people aged 9 - 17 will get a chance to spend a long weekend with no indoor plumbing, no internet, no cell phones, and no parents; (but plenty of adult supervision, horses and pristine mountain lakes.) We'll teach them how to enjoy the backcountry. Complete details.

August 22 - 25, 2014 (Fri - Mon): Kennedy Meadows General Meeting
Camping, fishing, riding and just plain fun with your fellow BCHC members. Our guest speaker Saturday night will be internationally-known horse and mule trainer Jerry Tindell.
